



Scenic Drives |

DESCRIPTION: From Grant Road in East Wenatchee, turn left onto Eastmont Avenue. Continue to follow Eastmont Avenue; it will turn into Badger Mountain Drive. Follow Badger Mountain Drive to the top of the hill. This area is known as Fancher Heights and is the original landing strip for the first transpacific flight in 1931 made by Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon.

DESCRIPTION: Wenatchee has many buildings on local, state and federal historic registers, but the Grandview District is the city's first historic district. The district's guidelines establish standards for maintenance, remodeling, building and landscaping meant to maintain the historic character of the neighborhood.

DESCRIPTION: From N. Wenatchee Avenue travel north to the "Spokane/Okanogan" exit and exit to the right. Continue past the stop light at Highway 97A and Easy Street, crossing the bridge over the Columbia River. At the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 2/97 turn left at the stoplight. Follow Highway 2/97 along the Columbia River.

DESCRIPTION: From N. Wenatchee Avenue travel north to the "Olds Station/Penny Road" exit and exit to the right. Continue to the stop light at the intersection of Penny Road and Easy Street, turn right onto Penny Road which will merge into Euclid Avenue and become Hwy 97A. Follow 97A along the banks of the Columbia River.

DESCRIPTION: From S. Wenatchee Avenue travel south to Viewdale, turn right onto Viewdale then left onto Squilchuck Road. Follow Squilchuck Road to Mission Ridge Ski & Board Resort. There are several areas along Squilchuck Road that offer excellent views of the valley.

DESCRIPTION: From N. Wenatchee Avenue traveling north, turn left onto 5th Street and continue to Western Avenue. At Western Avenue turn left and continue to No. 2 Canyon, turn left from No.2 Canyon onto Skyline Drive and follow it to Crawford. Turn left onto Crawford and continue until you again reach Wenatchee Avenue.
